Radiohead dip into unexpected sources of inspiration.

Reason #346 why they are one of the greatest working bands out there and #24 why King of Limbs subtle greatness can be easily over looked if you aren’t listening very hard.

Dimsiss at your own risk.

Original inspiration Madvillian-

The fruits of said loon-

Thom Yorke brings it all back home for those not paying attention-

i guess i just don’t have the staying power, or powers of concentration anymore to “work” at this. because to circle back and try to find what you’re suggesting seems like it might involve just that….work. i’m a little tired of having to put in effort to be engaged. just entertain me, please! but like i said, it’s more on me. as sir michael phillip jagger once said, “i just don’t have that much jam.” but sage words as per usual, sir. and i admire your allegiance here to one of our last great “bands”.

    I’m not that deep.
Radiohead’s love for Madvilliany which I think was one of the greatest hip hop records ever (the Glen Branca of rap we never asked for and got) is pretty neat and I think said influence can be heard all over King of Limbs esp. the 1st track.
The first 2 vids compare that and the 3rd is just Thom Yorke DJing and slipping in a Madvilliany track at the end.
But I guess if ya gotta explain a joke you’ve already lost.
    Sigh
