Longing
December 11, 2012
There’s a house of cards I’d like to blow down.
There’s an urge I’d like to follow.
There’s a girl I’d like to take for granted.
There’s a longing so invisible it will eat the foundation of your life like a hungry termite.
And it won’t have a sexy self-destructive coating.
It will only leave you with a crumbling rotted self.
And you’ll be on the phone with the contractors again and they’ll always come late.
Before you know it you’ll be back in the web you helped build with a poison spider sitting on your chest.
And you’ll miss the termites.
There’s a house of cards I’d like to blow down.
There’s an urge I’d like to follow.
There’s a girl I’d like to take for granted.
