Working Anthems With A Slacker Vibe Make For a Classic
April 11, 2013
This record is all warmth and family with a dark anxious backbeat.
Just in time for the April rains that bring in the summer.
Something about it makes me nostalgic for the time when I was in my 30s raising 2 kids in the city.
It sounds classic already like a open fire hydrant vibrating in the urban heat.
And the (sort of) title tune is one of the few 9+ minute songs I’ve heard that feels too short.
I have a feeling this will be on repeat for a while in my car. The kind of record I’ll listen to later and it will remind me of the summer of ’13 while bringing back memories of the summer of ’06.
