Day Dreaming Days in a Daydream Nation

if you love what a guitar can do and sometimes what you’d never think it was supposed to do.
if you ever wondered what Phil Spector’s wall of sound would be like with those guitars cranked up to 11.
this was alt rock before it had a name and was pimped out for beacoup cash.
the line in the sand between dinosaur classic rock and college rock. a direct line that started with the White Album and went to Physical Graffiti and landed at this 2 LP (yes, LP) behemoth in 1988.
this record is the brow of Athena that spawned Nirvana and the Pixies and an entire pop genre.
and yeah it’s also got dumped into the Library of Congress National Recording Registry but don’t let that make you start thinking it’s some work of art that should be hanging in a museum. Some aural broccoli and spinach that you’re supposed to consume.
This was art drowned in feedback and bile and beauty and songs about William Gibson and Regan’s fucked up America and Robert Chambers central park nightmares and Joni Mitchell’s genius and the sublime scuzz of 1980’s New York City.
The great American New York double record novel.
Just fuckin’ torrent the damn thing already….
